Contact and mixed tri-tag

U6 and U7 are tri-tag only, making them a great starting point for children who are new to rugby.
Contact tackling starts in U8 and U9, allowing players to develop progressively as they grow in confidence and understanding of the game.

For families who prefer a non-contact option, East Breakers will also be entering mixed tri-tag teams in U8 and U9.

Training and games

East Breakers trains every Thursday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm, alongside Easts Junior Beasties. This helps younger players feel part of the wider Easts rugby community from the very beginning.

Games are played on Saturday mornings at Nagle Park, Maroubra, giving players regular opportunities to learn, compete and enjoy being part of a team.

Professionally trained coaches

Our coaches are professionally trained and committed to creating a positive experience for every player. Whether a child is completely new to rugby or already developing a passion for the game, our coaching approach focuses on skill development, teamwork, confidence and enjoyment.

Each year, we also enter a junior competition, and East Breakers has achieved some terrific results.

Part of the Easts pathway

East Breakers is the starting point for many young players in the Eastern Suburbs. We introduce children to rugby in a fun and supportive setting, while also giving families a clear understanding of the next step.

From U10 onwards, players progress into Easts Junior Beasties, continuing their rugby journey within the Easts family.

New to rugby? Come and try it

You do not need any rugby experience to join East Breakers.

If your child is unsure about rugby, they are always welcome to come down to training, meet the coaches, join in and see what the club is all about. Grassroots rugby starts with giving it a go, and everyone is welcome.

We're always looking for more children and families to join our club, no matter the time of year.
